national cross country 2006
yesterday
so hiong lo
almost die from running
weather looks quite hot
my throat was feeling uncomfortable
n my lips feeling dry already at the starting line
i had done enough preparations before the race
i've been hydrating myself the past few days before the race
n i had stitch when doing warm up before the race
which means i drank to0 much water
but i still dun understand y i still get
dehydrated
well
i had a bad start
really a bad one
everybody sort of started off v fast
but i guess i'm nt fast enough
n i dunno y
i felt so cold while running
i dunno if it was the wind
but i felt really cold as if the wind was blowing strongly
i almost killed myself at the long slope
overtook by so many ppl
and its after i rolled down the slope
i felt better
as in nt so cold
but i guess my pace is too slow
in a race
it's at the turn abt pt where the boy n gal route splits
i started to pick up
i dunno what i was doing running so slowly before dat
well i told myself i must find someone to pace me
i ran forward n got someone running a lil faster n keep with her
when i find dat i can go faster
i hopped on to the next gal few metres in front
then i followed this gal who was quite fast
she's so lil in size
but at almost reaching the last bend
she stopped
guess i irritated her as i followed her tightly
It's at the last bend i ran wif this crescent gal
while running competitively beside her
she brushed pass this gal in navy blue jersey
unfortunately dat blue gal is decelerating
i knocked into her as there is no space for me
between the blue jersey gal n the crescent gal
yar
felt so sorry i almost knocked her down
but i grabbed hold of her in time
if nt she'll fall
it's the home stetch, last 400m i told myself
n i remembered wat mr lee told the team
"once you decided to open up your stride into a sprint
hang on till the finishing line"
haha
i overtook 4 ppl
yay
i felt so proud abt it
overtaking 4 ppl isnt easy
especially in a cross country race
it takes alot of mental strenth to do dat
to hang on
weee
i'll remember wat i did well in this race
n learn from wat i did poorly =D
looking back
this whole season had past
so quickly
almost 6 months of training
all the effort done
just for a race which lasted less than 20 min
n the short moment of glory n sastifaction
hehe
i'm gng to work harder next yr
n national aquathlon is in 3 wks' time
nt much time to train for it
mid yr is the most important now!
